Anne Peterson - President and CEO

 

Anne began her career in the Financial Services industry at Merrill Lynch in 1997 as a Financial Advisor in St. Louis, Missouri.  As she built her financial advisory practice, she was asked to serve in a variety of leadership roles including, Resident Director of Springfield, Missouri; Associate Director for the MidWest Region and the Ohio Valley Complex; and the Director for the Wisconsin Complex.  She coached and developed  high performing wealth management teams, served as a select member of leadership advisory groups and was awarded Most Influential Woman in Southwest Missouri by the Springfield Business Journal during this time.

In 2011, Anne joined Wells Fargo Advisors as Managing Director and served as the Manager for the Greater Kansas City Market. She worked with 120 Financial Advisors, 45 Client Associates and the leadership team to build value and wealth for WFA clients.  During Anne’s tenure, revenue and profit margins increased in the GKCM falong with assets under management.  Anne restructured and brought together a leadership team, merged and integrated offices from different legacy firms/cultures, developed a diversity plan to support women and advisors of color. She organized large client events that brought client accolades and business for advisors.

Most recently in 2014, Anne created Tallgrass Financial Strategies Incorporated – an independent boutique firm specializing in comprehensive financial services for clients who have unique financial needs due to major life transitions. The Firm helps clients navigate the financial complexities of divorce, retirement and widowhood by guiding them through a specific customized process.  This process developed by Tallgrass Financial Strategies Incorporated is applied to divorce financial analysis, financial planning, and investment management through individualized assessments and coaching/consulting.

Anne is currently FINRA-registered with Series 7, 63, 65, 9, 10; a licensed agent for life and health insurance and a licensed attorney,   She is a Wealth Management Advisor, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, and Certified Professional Coach. 

Prior to her work in the Financial Services industry, Anne was in private law practice. Additionally, she has extensive experience in management, marketing administration and public relations through her positions as Executive Director of CASA of St. Louis County, Communications Agent for Louisiana State University Cooperative Extension Service and Assistant Regional Director of the American Arbitration Association.

Anne received her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans and her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Consumer Behavior and Marketing from Louisiana State University.  She received her Professional Coaching certification from the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) and her Divorce Financial Analyst certification from the Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts (CDFA). 
 
Anne enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travel, sports, the performing arts, visiting gardens, and volunteering in the community.
